Avoid Spiritual Snake Bites-Look To The Great Physician

Snakes have been frightening creatures since the beginning of time when Eve yielded to temptation and disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. Most snakes are pretty harmless, in fact, we have several garden snakes in our garden that are helpful by eating pesky rodents that destroy our crops. There are many snakes though, that are very poisonous and deadly. We, as humans, seem to have instilled in us a natural fear of snakes. In the Bible, snakes are associated with sin and remind us of the fall of mankind. They are a symbol of Satan and his ways. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God and partook of the forbidden…

Testing “The 17 Points of the True Church” (Part 3)

Well, we finally made it to the final post of testing “The 17 Points of the True Church”! I have put a lot of time and research into testing each point and have learned a lot. I hope you have too. It has been a good experience for me. I know I have not touched on all aspects that could be touched on with each point, but I feel like I’ve tested things sufficiently. So without further ado let’s look at the last five points. Point #13 The true church must claim revelation from God (Amos 3:7) Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret…

Testing “The 17 Points of the True Church” (Part 2)

In Part 1 we discussed the first six points (please read Part 1 before continuing on with Part 2). In this post, I will be examining points seven through twelve. Point #7 The true church must baptize by immersion (Matt. 3:13-16) Matt. 3:13-16 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. When He had been…

Testing “The 17 Points of the True Church” (Part 1)

How do we know if a certain church/religion is true or not? Well, a young group of college students set out years ago to try to figure out that question. A man named Floyd Weston and four of his college friends met for several months and came up with these 17 points that they thought were necessary for a church/religion to be true. The story goes that they used the New Testament to figure out key doctrines and the organization of the church set up by Jesus Christ while here on Earth. After college, the friends were separated by WWII and establishing their own careers and families. When re-united, they…

The Most Important Event In Human History Part 2

God’s Holy Days reveal His master plan for our salvation through His Son, Yeshua the Messiah. It’s important to note that all His Holy Days or Feasts occur during agricultural harvest times for the Israelites. This is not just mere coincidence. It is yet another symbolic way that God communicates to us. Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits happen at the time of the barely harvest. The Feast of Weeks occurs at the time of the wheat harvest and the Fall Feasts occur right after the grape harvest and right before the olive harvest. These were the most important crops in Israel but there were of course…

The Most Important Event In Human History! Part 1

Most Christians today commemorate Yeshua’s atoning sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection with the Easter holiday. I was raised thinking Easter was the day when Christ died for our sins and was then resurrected. I’ll be perfectly honest in the fact that as a child, I was more focused on Easter baskets full of goodies, egg hunts and a new Easter dress to wear to church. As a young parent, I still wanted the fun of Easter for my children, but I also felt that I wanted them to realize the importance of this celebration, so I would always get them some sort of spiritual gift to put in…

What Are God’s Holy Days And Why Are They Important?

If you had asked me what God’s Holy Days were just three years ago, I would’ve had to think for a bit and probably would’ve said Easter and Christmas. I had of course, heard of Passover and Hanukkah but probably would not have labeled them as God’s Holy Days because I knew nothing about them and didn’t celebrate them. I might have labeled them as Jewish Holy Days. Well, I have learned a lot in the past three years, including what is meant by God’s Holy Days. When I did learn about them, I was astounded that I had never been taught about them before. Well, needless to say, learning…

The Game Of Power And Profit Within A Religion

Note: This blog was written back in November 2020 but for certain personal reasons I did not publish it then, however, I feel like now is a good time to do so. With the Thanksgiving celebration now in our rear view mirror of the turbulent 2020 year, I have decided to write my thoughts about the recent #GiveThanks Campaign that the prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church) issued to it’s membership. Because I am a former member of this church and my family, friends and neighbors are all members, I was bombarded with this gratitude campaign on my social media. Now please don’t misunderstand,…

Applying Truth Tests And Learning How To Examine Fruits

The purpose of this post is to show how to use the tests discussed in my previous post, “Are There Prophets Today? Truth Tests To Know”. As I began to question things in my former religion of Mormonism, I discovered many things that the leaders of my former church did and taught that were not in harmony with what was taught in the Bible. I have already discussed some of these things in previous posts and will continue to discuss more in the future. There are so many past and current leaders in the LDS Church that have taught or done things that were not or are not in harmony…

Are There Prophets Today? Truth Tests To Know

There are many well known prophets in the Old Testament such as Moses, Noah, Abraham, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, etc. These men were not perfect but they are greatly honored by Christians today because of their great courage, faith, endurance in many different trials, boldness, and willingness to stand for God’s truth. We admire and salute them today, but in their day, many of them were unpopular, hated, despised, mocked, persecuted, and even murdered by the people they were trying to help. What is a prophet? Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines prophet as: 1. One that foretells future events; a predicter; a foreteller. 2. In Scripture, a person illuminated, inspired or…
